Massimo Gaetani is a martial artist based in Cambridge (UK) with over 30 years of experience. Originally from Piacenza (Italy) he started his martial arts career at young age, in 1978 with Judo, followed by Karate Shotokan and then Kickboxing. Since he moved to the UK in 1994 he has been practicing and teaching Kickboxing, as well as training with experts in other disciplines such as Karate, Tang So Do, Tae Kwon Do, Ju Jitsu, Aikido and various styles of Kung Fu including Wing Chun that he has been practicing regularly since 2005. More recently he developed an interest for weapon based styles and he has been practicing Eskrima and Arnis, attending national workshops and seminars.
In 1999 he started CARISMA that is the most popular Kickboxing club in Cambridge. CARISMA was appointed in 2007 to coach the Cambridge University Kickboxing Society and it represents the technical reference for the society itself by supplying instructors on a permanent basis. In 2008 he helped a few undergraduate students from Anglia Ruskin University to start the ARU Kickboxing Club and he has been their head coach since.
Massimo’s interest for martial arts is not limited to the physical practice but it extends to the culture and philosophies behind various styles: for this reason he has been reading many books and other documents on the topic and he keeps in touch with like minded individuals and clubs, organizing and participating to seminars in various disciplines.
